Pause Time

The creative process itself is joy and healing

For me, "Pause Time" is the time I spend weaving.
Immersing myself in the texture and scent of the wool, a natural sense of relaxation washes over me.
As I weave row by row, feeling the fragrance of the yarn and the tactile warmth of wooden tools, it becomes a time to rekindle the pure, absorbed joy of childhood play—and a meditative moment to center my consciousness on the "here and now."

During the creative process, I find great joy in exploring the sensations and emotions that resonate with me now through the colors and forms of my designs.
Sitting at the loom, I step away from the frantic timeline of daily life. A quiet and serene sense of time begins to flow. There are moments of trial and error, and times when I must unravel the yarn and start again. Yet, in the act of creating with my own hands and body, the joy and healing lie not in the evaluation of the final outcome, but in the process of creation itself. This creative process is my essential Pause Time.

Wool Weaving Artist
I began tapestry weaving in 2014 using a wooden frame loom I built myself. My studio name, Uoolen, is a play on the word “woolen”—replacing the initial “W” with the “U” from my surname. I primarily create works that explore the medium of wool.
