Pause Time
Tracing the moments of everyday life through photography
Photos taken with a film camera cannot be seen right away. Time passes as you wait for them to be developed, and finishing a single roll may take only a day, or sometimes weeks or even months.
One day, when the developed film arrives, I run it through a small scanner and slowly look through each frame, one by one. In the present moment, I retrace the time when those scenes were captured. I feel this is where I find my pause time.
The more I take photos, the more I feel that photographs have no beginning or end, and that the boundaries of time cannot be defined by dates alone. That is why, amidst the endless flow of time, I pause to simply accept photographs as they are—and cherish the ambiguity they hold.
