Pause Time
Morning coffee and journaling
Every morning, I brew a cup of steaming hot coffee, savoring its aroma as I head to my small atelier. When I face a blank notebook with a clear, blank mind, I can encounter my own inner abundance through the flow of the ink.
Beyond my fixed plans, what do I want to do today? What am I feeling? How do I want to show up? What color speaks to me this morning?
As I let my pen flow in this dialogue with myself, I come to realize that everything I need is already within me.
I make a conscious effort to journal not only when I’m feeling down or lost, but especially when things are going well, so I can listen to my 'naked voice.' Even when I’m enjoying my work, I can get so consumed by it that I start acting out of ego without realizing it. That’s when my morning journaling and 'pause time' give me a tap on the shoulder, saying 'Hey!' When the boundary between journaling and poetry begins to blur, the day’s creation has already begun. It is only through these moments of standing still that true expression is born.
