Created in collaboration with Karimoku, Japan’s leading wooden furniture manufacturer. The sophisticated processing techniques cultivated through years of furniture making are condensed into this palm-sized tool. Much like the cover of an MD Notebook, the gentle texture of the wood fits comfortably in your hand, adding a sense of tranquility to your Pausing.
The mastery of Karimoku, found in its simplest form
Working with Karimoku, our goal was to bring out the inherent beauty of wood by balancing a "pure, minimalist form" with a "comforting tactile feel", the very essence of the MD Notebook. By taking the time to dry the wood thoroughly and carving it with precision, we have achieved a beautiful shape free of all excess. Within this simple design, the masterful techniques of Karimoku Furniture come to life. As each piece features a unique grain, it is truly one-of-a-kind. The skill and spirit of artisans, cultivated through years of furniture making, are distilled into this small pen rest.
